International travel

Turku international airport is a small airport with daily connections to and from Helsinki, Stockholm and Riga.

Helsinki international airport is the main destination in Finland, offering over 300 flights per day. These direct connections serve all major European cities and several Asian destinations. From Helsinki there are hourly train and bus connections to Turku with travel time about 2-2.5 hours. They may be more suitable and affordable than the flight connections.

Summer School participants are advised to arrive already on Sunday 24 June. There are no functional connections on Monday morning. More information can be found from Finavia and Visit Finland web sites.

Finland is part of the Schengen area, and citizens of other Schengen member states can enter Finland holding a passport or a national ID card which is valid for the duration of the stay.

A passport valid for three months beyond the length of stay and issued in the past 10 years is required from citizens of USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and UK, who will be able to stay a maximum of 90 days as a traveler without a visa.
